Spoilers and Spooning

I like to spoil the endings of almost everything. Let's face it, I stink at holding in all forms of excitement. That's why I prefer to call it "excited sharing." I mean, when you think of spoil you think of rotten, or ruin and that obviously makes me feel...well, rotten. In this case however, I'm "sharing" something that already happened.

Last night I watched the most recent episode of Psych on Hulu. (I don't have Cable?) Shawn and Juliet go off to a couples spa retreat as part of a romantic getaway. Of course something bad happens and they're forced to investigate while on vacation. In the midst of it all, Shawn's DS was stolen and instead of dealing with the situation in a calm, grown-up way, he throws a tantrum. Juliet gets quite annoyed. After all, it's just a DS. Together the two of them solve the crime and spend the rest of their afternoon in a hot air balloon. (Romantic right? Yes, but their child-like personalities got the best of them.) Once they return back to the Spa, Shawn apologizes to Jules for not meeting her "great expectations." She gave him a questionable look then quickly clarified that she was clearly not ready to get married. Was he? He shook his head no. Back at the Hotel, Gus figures everything out credit card wise then retrieves Shawn's DS. As he opens it up however, it starts to rattle. Huh? He kept shaking it. Carefully removing the back side of the DS, Gus finds a beautiful engagement ring stashed in the small compartment. >Insert my heart breaking.< I feel like that happens way too often.

Some of you may be wondering as to why I mentioned "spooning." in my post title. Well...Friday after class, Cody asked if I would like to go on a date with him. I said yes. (While also thinking, Rachael are you stupid? You haven't gone on a date with anyone from Richland in 7 months practically. You are WAY out of practice. Get ready for a night of complete embarrassment.) And as part of my "out of practice-ness," I completely forgot how one typically gets ready for such a date. I headed to the gym. Lucky for me I got gym sucked and ended up staying there longer than I planned. Yay? With 1 hour remaining, Crispin and I watched an episode of Psych while I stretched and she climbed all over my shoulders. I remembered somewhere that a girl should look presentable when a boy takes her out, so I reluctantly took a shower. I may or may not have dried my completely-out-of-hand locks of lusciousness, and I may or may not have brushed my teeth. I was about to put on make-up when I thought to myself, "Why do I have to wear make-up and uncomfortable clothes on a date? That's not something I would do." I threw on a T-shirt and jeans. Then I heard a knock on the door, wished my sister a great night, and opened the door. Cody was standing there with a spoon in his mouth. (For some odd reason, I thought that was perfectly normal.) When we got in the car, I asked what we were going to be doing for the rest of the evening. Michael informed me that it was a themed date. The theme being....Yep, you guessed it. Spooning! You can imagine the excitement I felt as Mindy and I blushed with laughter. (Side note: The boys referred to it as a "shoveling" date. Mindy and I on the other hand preferred to call it a "spooning" date.) It turns out dating is really fun. I suggest you try it. We made enchiladas without any help, (okay, truth is...I made them myself. Cody read the book, Mindy did what she could with a broken arm and Michael, well....he didn't even know how to turn on the oven.) played spoons, ate dinner with spoons, played "cut the flour" with spoons, (Mindy lost. Bahah.) decorated a cake with spoons, and ding-dong ditched the awful mess to Cameron. We attached a "Thanks for being apart of our Spooning Date" note and stabbed 2 spoons and a pocket knife in the middle. (Sketchy...I know.) Overall, I have never had so much fun spooning in my entire life.

Yay for awkward ending sentences! Enjoy that. ;)
